October's event featured a dynamic panel of women who have turned analytic data into creative opportunities to grow their business.

Panel Moderated Jennifer Villani, The Story Lab SVP, Business Development & Innovation lead a dynamic conversation and addressed the challenges facing today's marketers.  

W captured a few sound bites here:  

We deal with the mounds of data everyday, but determining real trends vs "moment in time" explosions is critical for successful marketing.  Brands must "own the narrative" in order to grow, with listening and responding appropriately the keys to success in world of social media.  The panel emphasized the importance of building authentic partnerships and revealed the challenges of the savvy consumer who can filter for the inauthentic.

An interesting note for accelerating growth:  "Corporate America doesn't like tension, but start-ups are built on tension".  The successful brand/company identifies the consumer "tension point" and address the problem.

All participants left with Lisa Sugar's book Power Your Happy which is an excellent read, as Lisa shares the key aspects of the personal experiences that shaped her into the leader she is today.  The book offers great tips to launch a fabulous career or to help you reset your priorities.

Meet the Panelist

Ashley Boyce started her career working in Unilever’s Canadian office, with a focus on their men’s portfolio. She ran the Canadian AXE Personal Wash business before launching AXE Hair into the Canadian market in 2009. In 2010, Ms. Boyce transferred to Unilever’s U.S. headquarters, working on the AXE global team to launch AXE Hair into Europe. Her focus was in global product development and campaign ideation. From 2014 until 2015, she worked on the U.S.’s personal care strategy team, helping to construct the longer-term vision of the U.S. personal care portfolio, as well as managing several of Unilever’s innovation business models. Since 2015, she has been a member of the Dove U.S. marketing team. Ms. Boyce has a Masters in Cosmetics and Fragrance Technology from the Fashion Institute of Technology and as a member of CEW’s Young Executive Committee. 

Lynn Pine is Vice President of East Cost Sales for POPSUGAR, she is responsible for strategic partnerships leveraging POPSUGAR Inc.’s brands including POPSUGAR.com, ShopStyle, & POPSUGAR Must Have. She previously brought her skills to Mode Media, Forbes and Undertone. Lynn holds a BA degree in Psychology from StonyBrook University.  She currently resides in Long Island with her husband and three children.
